Kate Hudson is not a good actress. She's just not. She's meant to live in the world of mindless romantic comedies and she should NEVER cross into the real film industry. The film industry that is nothing else, but a form of artistic domain. Unfortunately, she is one of our leading ladies in Nine. As for red carpet style Hudson has always been a simple bohemian, nothing to daring, clothes ripped off of Janis Joplin gone from the salvation army to imposture brands. But in the film she plays Stephanie a film critic with style that moved with the fashions of the time, CoCo Chanel inspired suits with colorful blouses, and voluminous hair styles that only supported big ridiculous earrings, and far to much eye shadow. All together she looks like a reporter in uniform for a fashion magazine rather then a film critic. As the movie evolves and she performs a dancing and singing number, her costume reflects that. In her number she wears a dress with Swarovski diamond crystals from the 1920s, but with the same voluminous updo. A dazzling fringed ensemble with hair bigger then the actresses range of talent.
